The film will include original plots and storylines from the original series including a resolution to unknown location of Arnold's parents and will start from where the movie ended.

"Our library has come to fruition and it's time for it to start coming back to life," Hicks added.

The film will feature same characters but will have some minimal revisions will be done to them. Creator Craig Bartlett said "We want it to have a new look and feel but still respect the canon of what we've done," reported by A.V Club.

Hicks said that he wanted the movie to be interesting and relevant to its potential viewers that doesn't have any memory of the characters, according to IGN.

The "Hey Arnold" movie will include original characters such as Arnold's best friends Gerald, and Helga, Arnold's bully who has a long time crush on him, his parents that were also featured during "The Journal" episode in 2002, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Due to this announcement, fans are saying that it appears that Nickelodeon set a possibility to revive old series such as "The Wild Thornberrys," "Ren & Stimpy" and "Rocko's Modern Life" however, the company hasn't released any statement about these aside from the "Hey Arnold!" movie.

The company's executives didn't give any details about the movie's official airing date as of the moment although, creator Craig Bartlett said he will try to finish the upcoming movie as soon as possible.
