Twitter Removes Crop For Image Previews

Twitter announced on their own social media platform that the default crop that occurs when you view photos and videos is gone. This comes just weeks after the social media giant allowed the uploading of 4K resolution images on Android and iOS. High-quality media has finally arrived in the land of limited characters.

If you are a Twitter user, you may have an idea of what Twitter crop means. However, just like the majority, you probably would not know if you did not do any research.

The Twitter crop is the automatic cropping of image previews in the main feed of your Home page or a specific profile. If a super-wide photo was uploaded, there is a good chance that you will only see the middle portion. The same applies to long photos.

If there is one group of people who are not amused by the changes, they are the folks who try to bait users to click a photo because of the Twitter crop. People have taken advantage of cropping to entertain their followers. Fear not, the web version of Twitter still supports the infamous crop. So if you plan on doing those types of memes, better act quick as they may soon fade away in an automatic update.

Twitter is a social networking platform that allows users to microblog through tweets. Tweets used to be only limited to 140 characters until the character capacity was doubled back in 2017. Many users have grown accustomed to the lake of microblogging style of Twitter rather than the ocean of Facebook.

Not seeing the crop-free Twitter? Make sure to update your app on the Play Store for Android or the App Store for Apple users.

If you need a visual representation of what this all means, Twitter has got you covered. Check out the tweet here!
