'Game Of Thrones’ Star, Emilia Clarke AKA Daenerys, To Join Cast Of Marvel Studios’ ‘Secret Invasion’
Emilia Clarke, who played Daenerys Targaryen in the "Game of Thrones" series, is about to "invade" Marvel Studios' Disney Plus.
Clarke is negotiating to become a part of "Secret Invasion," from Marvel Studios' original series. The film company refused to disclose anything on the matter, including Clarke's representative.
Last year, "Secret Invasion" was released as a development property and one of Marvel Studios' several planned titles for Disney Plus. The series is about coming after a group of shape-shifting aliens that have been entering planet Earth for years.
Samuel L. Jackson is remaking his role of Nick Fury. Ben Mendelsohn, on the other hand, will play the role of Skrull Talos. Kingsley Ben-Adir will play the role of the main villain.
However, based on the original Secret Invasion comics, Skrull's empress Veranke is the mastermind of the alien invasion who impersonates Spider-Woman. Contrarily in "Captain Marvel," Skrulls are unveiled as decent aliens.
Olivia Coleman is also set to join "Secret Invasion," who played the role of Elizabeth II in the movie, "The Crown." It's not yet known what role the two former queens in their movies they will play in Marvel Studios' new original series.
Clarke is a four-time Primetime Emmy-nominated actress and is the most recent celebrity to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). She is well-known for her provocative portrayal of Daenerys Targaryen in "Games of Thrones," where she was also known as the "Dragon Queen." HBO's global smash just celebrated the 10th year anniversary of its premiere.
Additionally, Clarke was the recipient of the BAFTA Britannia Award for British Artist of the Year in 2018. She will voice over a particular role in the upcoming animated movie titled "The Amazing Maurice."
As of this writing, it's not yet disclosed when is the premiere of the "Secret Invasion" TV series, so better stay tuned. However, with the mentioned casts, shooting on the six-episode miniseries is anticipated to start eventually this fall in Europe and the United Kingdom.
