Ji Chang-wook Confirmed To Be Part Of 'The Sound Of Magic,' An Upcoming Drama On Netflix

Actor and international brand ambassador Ji Chang-wook has been confirmed as part of the cast in "The Sound Of Magic," an upcoming drama on the renowned streaming platform Netflix. He joins Choi Sung-eun and Hwang In-youp in the cast. 

Thirty-three-year-old Ji Chang-wook is an actor and singer from South Korea. His popularity rose when he portrayed the lead role, Dong-hae in the daily K-Drama series, "Smile Again" plus lead roles in television shows such as "Empress Ki," "Warrior Baek Dong-soo," "Healer," "The K2," "Melting Me Softly," "Suspicious Partner," "Lovestruck In The City," and more.

"The Sound Of Magic" is loosely based on the popular webtoon titled "Annarasumanara," to be directed by Kim Sung-youn. He worked previously in the 2020 hit series, "Itaewon Class." Ji Chang-wook will play the protagonist Rieul characterized to be a mysterious magician who resides in this abandoned amusement park.

He stars opposite Hwang In-youp of "True Beauty," alongside young actress Choi Sung-eun who will portray, respectively, classmates Na Il-deung and Yoon Ah-yi. The two will encounter Ji Chang-wook's character, who will take them to Rieul's magical world.

Hwang In-youp is a 30-year-old actor, singer, and model in South Korea best known for his portrayals in television dramas "The Tale Of Nokdu," "18 Again," "True Beauty," and more.

On the other hand, Choi Sung-eun, 24 years old, is an actress in South Korea whose acting debut was in "Start-Up" in 2019, from where she clinched a Chunsa Film Festival award in the category of Best New Actress. 

Kim Min Jeong will write the script for "The Sound Of Magic," who worked with the director in the K-Drama "Love In The Moonlight." Details about the release date of "The Sound Of Magic" are not yet announced. 

"The Sound Of Magic" is the first acting project of Ji Chang-wook since his show last year, "Lovestruck In The City." However, rumors of his role in "The Sound Of Magic" began circulating at the end of last year.
