Resident Calls Authorities As Staff Of ‘Mouse’ Reported Not Wearing Facemasks, Filming Until Late Evenings
Media reports confirm that the production crew of the tvN drama series "Mouse" was reported to authorities after a complaint from a resident on March 7. The staff was filming in Seongsan-dong, Mapo-gu at that time. Two policemen were immediately dispatched to inspect the area.
An elderly woman called the police for two main reasons: the crew was not wearing facemasks and filming in the late evening. She voiced her concern because not wearing masks during a pandemic is a significant health risk, and they were making unnecessary noise during the night while everyone is sleeping.
She also said that the "Mouse" crew had broken her property, and they smoke a lot while in the area.
This isn't the first time that someone had to complain concerning the show's filming. Many of the residents have also shared complaints about the noise. This also includes the annoying smell of cigarettes while the filming was ongoing. A report says that they film until 11 pm at least twice a week and at times they film the whole day, which has been a hassle for the residences in the area. The majority of them immediately complain to the film crew.
"Mouse" is a Korean thriller TV series starring Lee Seung-gi, Lee Hee-joon, Park Ju-hyun, and Kyung Soo-jin. It premiered on March 3, 2021, and air every Wednesday and Thursday in South Korea. The series can also be streamed in other Asian countries via IQiyi and Viu in Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
The scriptwriter of the show, Choi Ran, is inspired by the Incheon Elementary School Murder case that happened in 2017. "Mouse" is directed by Choi Joon-bae and Jang Cheol-woo.
With the show that is mainly centered on crime and murder, it's no wonder that the crew is filming the scenes in ungodly hours. Hopefully, they would also consider the area they are filming and the residents that live nearby.
