Remember iMac Pro? Apple said they would no longer make the iMac Pro.

The iMac Pro was first presented in 2017, and it offers more powerful all-in-ones to high-end customers wanting workstation Intel Xeon CPUs.

However, according to reports, the machine hasn't gotten any significant updates in the past few years.

It sits in a niche segment of the market, and much of its place in the limelight for pros has been taken by the 2019 Mac Pro tower, said the report.

Apple told CNN that clients can still purchase an all-in-on-Mac but for a limited time only. The $4,999 standard model can yet be bought on Apple's website, but only while supplies last. Once existing inventory runs out, the iMac Pro will no longer be available.

Reports said that the high-end "standard" iMac models have also impinged on the iMac Pro in terms of execution.

There have been well-sourced reports that the company will be introducing a redesigned iMac and doing a revamp of the Mac Pro sometime this year and the phasing out of the iMac Pro. It's not a huge surprise.

Bloomberg reported in January that the refurbishment would get remove of the "chin" beneath the screen and have a flat-back design.

Bloomberg reported that the upcoming model would slim down the thick black borders around the screen and do away with the sizable metal chin area in favor of a design similar to Apple's Pro Display XDR monitor.

Apple is planning to launch two versions in codenamed J456 and J457 and to change the present 21.5-inch and 27-inch models later this year, the source said, asking not to be named because the products are not yet announced, as posted on Bloomberg report.

In the meantime, the 27-inch iMac introduced in August is a reliable option Apple says is popular among professional iMac users.
