Mobile World Congress 2015 - Day 1

LG stopped selling Watch Urbane second edition LTE after six days since its release due to unspecified hardware defect.

The LG Watch Urbane second edition is the first wearable device that runs on Android that has LTE connectivity. Apparently, the device has a hardware issue that might affect its daily functionality, according to The Verge.

"After further investigation, the decision was made to cancel the rollout of the Urbane 2nd Edition LTE due to the complicated nature of the issue," a statement released by LG stated, according to TechnoBuffalo.

LG hasn't released any information about the unidentified hardware defect the Watch Urbane second edition LTE has. It's also unclear whether the company would start to roll out the device again anytime soon.

"We understand that you are currently reviewing our latest smartwatch," according to LG's statement reported by Android Police.

"However, late in the quality assurance process for the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE, our engineers were made aware of a hardware issue which affects the day-to-day functionality of the device. After further investigation, the decision was made to cancel the rollout of the Urbane 2nd Edition LTE due to the complicated nature of the issue," the company statement continued.

AT&T was the first to release the LTE capable LG Watch Urbane second edition to its customers last week. The company announced that customers who bought the device would get a refund because of its "quality issue," reported by 9To5Google. Customers were given an option to exchange their LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition for another wearable device.

LG clearly pointed out in their statement that their main priority as of now is to make sure that their Watch Urbane second edition LTE will pass quality standard assurance as well as their other products before it will be released. The company has not yet made a final decision whether to relaunch the device or not in the future.
