Recently, BLACKPINK's "BOOMBAYAH" has acquired over 1.1 billion views on YouTube. On Chinese New Year, BTS is setting yet another record for becoming the first Asian artist to obtain 15 billion streams on Spotify.

The global music chart website "Chart Data" revealed, making them the first K-Pop act to achieve this as well. The "Life Goes On" singers RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have been the second-most and most-streamed K-Pop group on Spotify in the previous years.

The septet's "Map of the Soul: 7" album also accumulated an additional 2.5 million streams on Spotify, among the world's widely used streaming platforms. Likewise, it has also been streamed more than five million times apart from the group's initial record at 3.7 million streams.

It can be remembered in 2018, BTS has achieved the second-highest number of streams on Spotify, with the act gaining an average of almost 11 million monthly listeners, ranking at 211th worldwide on the platform. Their single "Fake Love" has been the most-streamed track in that year, with over 175 million streams.

It was in 2019 when BTS was crowned the most-streamed K-Pop artists on Spotify. Over three billion streams worldwide were accounted for by the Korean boy band. Their global hit song "Boy With Luv" with Hollywood artist Halsey gained over 300 million streams, also hailed as the most-streamed K-Pop song that year.

Last year, in 2020, BTS also achieved the title of the Korean act with the highest streams on Spotify. There have been about five billion streams, becoming the first Asian artist to reach the milestone. They had a total of 32 million streams in December, with "Boy With Luv" gaining the highest streams among the rest of the K-Pop songs in 2020, garnering 576 million streams.

"Map of the Soul: 7" has also now been spending 50 weeks on the Billboard World Albums Chart.
