Red Velvet "Psycho"

MelOn, South Korea's biggest music platform, released its annual year-end chart for 2020. With more than 28 million users, MelOn tallies actual or unique listeners instead of streams; therefore, being included in its year-end charts is a huge achievement for any Korean artist. Ranking in MelOn charts shows how well-loved a song is by the general public.

On February 9th, MelOn released the top 10 most listened-to K-Pop group songs in their platform for 2020, and  Red Velvet leads the girl groups at number 2, beating BLACKPINKTWICE, and Oh My Girl, making them the highest-charting girl group.

In particular, Red Velvet's latest December 2019 release with "Psycho" became the most-listened-to song among the female Korean groups. It is very important to take note that Red Velvet's "Psycho" achieved this and many other notable chartings without promotions for more than a year, since Wendy, the group's main vocalist, suffered a serious injury after an incident last December 2019.

Aside from being the most-listened-to Korean girl group song for 2020, "Psycho" has achieved many other notable chartings since it came out. Just a day after its release, Red Velvet's enchanting song grabbed the number 1 spot on all five major real-time charts such as MelOn, Bugs, Genie, Soribada, and FLO and achieved an all-kill on the Christmas Day of 2019.

It also ranked 1st on iTunes for over 42 countries and even surpassed BTS' "Boy with Luv" with the most hours in the Top 5 of Genie.

Here's the top 10 list of the most-listened-to K-Pop group songs on MelOn in 2020:

1. BTS - "Boy With Luv"

2. Red Velvet - "Psycho"

3. BTS - "Dynamite"

4. BLACKPINK - "How You Like That"

5. Oh My Girl - "Nonstop"

6. BTS - "ON"

7. Oh My Girl - "Dolphin"

8. MAMAMOO - "HIP"
