NCT, TREASURE, U-KNOW, (G)-IDLE, CRAVITY Complete Top 5 January Hanteo Album Sales Chart
Hanteo Chart, the world's one-and-only real-time music chart, has revealed the top 30 best-selling physical albums in South Korea for the month of January 2021.
In the month of January, SM Entertainment boy group NCT topped the Hanteo Chart with its second full-length album, "NCT 2020 RESONANCE Pt.2 (DEPARTURE VER.)"
#1 NCT 2020 RESONANCE Pt.2 (DEPARTURE VER.)
According to Hanteo Chart, NCT's "NCT 2020 RESONANCE Pt.2 (DEPARTURE VER.)" sold over 268,788 copies for the month of January. Furthermore, the album also recorded the first week (November 30th-December 6th) sales of 402,652 copies.
Officially proclaimed as "double-million sellers," SM Entertainment's NCT continues to prove their status as the current generation's physical album sales' "monster boy group." Selling a total of 2.68 million albums for their "Resonance Pt.1 and Pt.2" albums just proves the immense and emerging popularity of the boy group.
#2 "THE FIRST STEP: TREASURE EFFECT."
Following NCT on the list is no other than YG Entertainment's newest boy group, TREASURE. Referred to as the boy group to watch out for, TREASURE ranked second on Hanteo Chart's January list with over 218,349 sales for their very first album, "THE FIRST STEP: TREASURE EFFECT."
#3 "Noir"
Coming in hot at number 3 is Yunho, or prominently known as U-Know, of the legendary TVXQ. Proving his immense popularity as a K-Pop Icon, U-Know sold over 156,318 physical album copies in just two weeks.
#4 "I burn"
Placing fourth on the list is CUBE Entertainment's (G)I-DLE with their newest album release, "I burn." Featuring the title song "HWAA," (G)I-DLE's "I burn" sold over 134,447 copies for the period of January 2021.
#5 "HIDEOUT: SEASON 3 BE OUR VOICE"
Completing the top 5 is CRAVITY's "HIDEOUT: SEASON 3 BE OUR VOICE." Starship Entertainment's CRAVITY sold over 82,678 physical copies of their newest album showing impressive sales for a rookie boy group from a non-Big 4 company.
