Police: No Clear Leads To The Cause Of Rapper Iron’s Sudden Death

On January 25th, South Korean rapper Iron passed away at 29 years old. 

According to police reports, the "Show Me The Money 3" first-runner up rapper was found bleeding and unconscious outside his apartment complex in Jung-go, Seoul, by a security guard at around 10:25 A.M KST today. After he was discovered, Iron was immediately rushed to the hospital but was announced dead upon arrival

How did South Korean Rapper Iron die?

The Police have opened an investigation into the case of Iron, however, as of this writing, they stated that they still don't have many clear leads as to the cause of Iron's death.

"We have not discovered any signs that the deceased was murdered. We also cannot confirm whether the deceased committed suicide, as we are still investigating," stated the Police.

Moreover, no suicide note was discovered in the Iron's apartment, and the Police are planning to discuss with the diseased family whether or not they wish to conduct an autopsy.

His management label, Polaris Entertainment, has yet to release its statement about the untimely death of rapper Iron.

Iron's Problematic Past

Meanwhile, back in December 2020, rapper Iron was arrested for allegedly beating his teenage roommate with a baseball bat. Iron was also reportedly charged for using marijuana in 2016 and was ordered to pay a fine and attend 40 hours of rehabilitation. 

Not only that but in July 2017, the rapper was charged with assaulting his ex-girlfriend. Because of this, the hip-hop artist faced two-year probation and 80 hours of community service.

Iron and his Musical Career

Iron, whose real name is Jung Hun-cheol, rose to fame after winning as the first runner-up for Mnet's hip-hop program "Show Me The Money" in 2014. 

In September 2016, Iron released his debut solo album titled "Rock Bottom." He has also collaborated with a number of K-Pop artists, including Hyolyn, AOA's Jimin, and the late Jonghyun of SHINee.
