Twitter Announced Most Tweeted Kpop Accounts for 2020
Twitter shared an analysis of different accounts and tweets from users all over the world in 2020. Together with the hashtag ", this happened," Twitter revealed the ranking of the most-tweeted Kpop accounts in 2020.
BTS tops the ranking
This year, BTS became the Most-Tweeted Account, Most-Tweeted Musician Account, and Most-Tweeted K-pop Account globally. Since 2017, this is their fourth year in where BTS became the most-tweeted account.
BTS placed No. 2 under the list for Most-Retweeted Tweet. Jungkook's post regarding the cover video of Lauv's Never Noy gained a total of 35 million views, three million hearts, and 1.6 million retweets. The first most-retweet tweet is the actor Chadwick Boseman's passing.
In second and third place are the cover video of Jungkook, and in fourth place is a post from BTS expressing their joy with the ARMY and became the first Korean artist to top Billboard Hot 100. Coming on fifth is a post of RM wrote as he celebrates his birthday.
EXO coming on second
The second most-tweeted K-pop account is EXO. EXO's Kai and Suho caught a lot of attention this year as they announce their solo activities. In March, Suho held a Blueroom live to celebrate his solo promotions.
Also, he tweeted announcing Kai's solo debut, which received 140,000 retweets and 310,000 likes.
Moreover, upon analyzing the keywords, the Top 10 musicians worldwide are BTS on No. 1 and BLACKPINK at No. 7. Twitter and K-pop Radar shared an analysis of K-pop data earlier in September. According to the data, a total of 6.1 billion K-pop related tweets were made over the year. The information also included graphs depicting the trend in K-pop over the world.
