Music by rock band "Grateful Dead" and "Fleetwood Mac", singers Roberta Flack and Blondie and jazz icons Louis Armstrong and Miles Davis' induction in the Grammy Hall of Fame has been confirmed, according to VOA.

This was announced by The Recording Academy, Wednesday.

Named one of Rolling Stone's 500 greatest albums in 2012, "Grateful Dead's" 1970 album, "American Beauty" will be initiated. This comes after the band has ended their 50-year run with a final tour this year.

"Grateful Dead" were the most groundbreaking acts in rock and roll history and the most important band of the psychedelic era, reported Rock Hall.

The band started out playing in San Francisco ballrooms in the Sixties, to stadiums and arenas all over the United States. The band's extensive network of fans were known as "Deadheads."

"Grateful Dead's" roots are in bluegrass and blues, and the band also explored R&B, Blues, Jazz, and avant-garde territory. "Dark Star," the band's signature song has been performed by the group more than 200 times and never the same way twice.

"They'll follow me down any dark alley," said guitarist Jerry Garcia in 1987. "Sometimes there's light at the end of the tunnel, and sometimes there's a dark hole. The point is, you don't get adventure in music unless you're willing to take chances."

Blondie's "Heart of Glass," Fleetwood Mac's 1975 album and Joe Cocker's "You Are So Beautiful" are among the 26 new recordings that will be inducted to the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2016, revealed Billboard.

"It's very nice to be included in such incredible company," says Blondie's Deborah Harry. "'Heart of Glass' has lived through quite a few incarnations, and now to become a part of history is just perfectly delicious."

The Recording Academy's Grammy Hall of Fame is now in its forty-third year, and brings a total of 1,013 honored titles.
