aespa Debuts with 'Black Mamba', Breaks Record of Fastest Debut MV To Get 10 Million Views

SM's new girl group aespa finally made their debut yesterday with their single "Black Mamba". The successful debut broke the record for gaining ten million views in the shortest time. The previous record was 13 hours by TXT for their debut song "Crown", which was released in 2019. With "Black Mamba", aespa was able to get 10 million views in just nine hours after the release. 

The four-member group, composed of leader and main dancer/ lead rapper Karina, Giselle, Winter, and the maknae, Ningning, who serves as the main vocal artist of the group. The group also recently announced their fandom name, "My", which means my precious friend. Their debut video did not just feature the girls showcasing their talents in dancing and singing but also their avatars ae-Karina, ae-Giselle, ae-NingNing, and ae-Winter. These characters were also featured in the music video and were said to live in a place called Kwangya. 

The song features lots of fantastic and ethereal scenes, not to mention some great choreography. The Black Mamba, the villain being alluded to in the video, seems to be played by Jang Yoon Ju. Another surprise came at the end of the video, when fellow SM artist BoA, one of the pioneers of Kpop appeared.
