BLACKPINK is Korea’s 1st “Million Seller” Girl Group
Blackpink is making history, AGAIN!
K-pop's hottest girl group to-date is making headlines as their first full album "THE ALBUM" has sold a total of 1,209,543 copies as of October 26 - just less than a month after their release.
This number combines the group's domestic physical album sales of approximately 871,355 copies and the international sales of 319,300 copies.
Such an amazing feat earned Blackpink the title "million seller" joining other k-pop acts such as BTS, WannaOne, and EXO.
YG Entertainment's gem is South Korea's first-ever girl group to sell more than 1 million copies of an album, proving that girl groups can also be "Pretty Savage" in the physical album sales game which is mainly dominated by k-pop boy groups.
Blackpink's "The Album" was released on October 2 and immediately smashed records. It debuted at No. 2 on Billboard 200 and stayed in the Top 10 for three consecutive weeks now making them the first K-pop gg to do so.
