BTS has received another recognition from a music award-giving body. The Korean pop sensation has won the Global Phenom award from the 2019 ARDYs, the Radio Disney annual awards event.

The 2019 ARDYs, formerly known as the Radio Disney Music Awards, was held in Los Angeles on Sunday. BTS failed to attend the awards ceremony which coincides with the group's 5th Muster celebration in Busan, South Korea.

Apparently, this is the first year ARDYs is giving the Global Phenom award. Soompi quoted a source from Big Hit Entertainment as saying that the award recognizes BTS's global influence in the world of music, dance, fashion, and more.

This is the second year Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook received recognition from ARDYs. Last year, the group grabbed three Mickey Mouse trophies: the Best Duo/Group, Best Dance Track for Steve Aoki's remix of "MIC Drop," and Best Song That Makes You Smile for "DNA." BTS's ARMY also won the Fiercest Fans award.

Although BTS wasn't present at the awards show, they did prepare a short clip where they thanked their ARMY. The members also answered some of their fans questions. Watch BTS's clip below.

Meanwhile, BTS's frequent collaborator Steve Aoki made a special shout out to the group during the awards ceremony. He also performed "MIC Drop" as well as "Zero Gravity" and "Waste It On Me" which is his most recent collab with BTS. Host Sofia Carson, on the other hand, performed a cover of "Boy With Luv."

The latest accolade that was bestowed on the group followed their successful two-night 5th Muster celebration in Jimin and Jungkook's hometown, Busan. The "Idol" hitmakers entertained about 22,000 fans on the second day of the event at the Busan Asiad Auxiliary Stadium with their performances of 18 songs. Fans enjoyed each song as most of the tracks that the group sang were not included in their concert setlist.

The 2019 Grammy Award Best Duo/Group winner will hit Seoul's Olympic Gymnastics Arena next on June 22-23 for the last leg of 5th Muster tour. After their sixth-year anniversary celebration, BTS will be back on the road for the continuation of their Love Yourself: Speak Yourself stadium tour in Japan starting on July 6.
