EXO Members Chanyeol & Sehun's Unit Confirmed To Debut Next Month + EXO Upcoming Schedule
EXO members Chanyeol and Sehun are finally getting their own unit and it is set to debut in July. SM Entertainment has confirmed that the two will release their debut album next month.
EXO-Ls are all thrilled to see Chanyeol and Sehun together again in a project. The two previously worked together for their first collaboration single, titled "We Young," through SM Station.
Prior to SM Entertainment's confirmation of a new sub-unit, there have been fan theories that Chanyeol and Sehun are working on a project together. The duo was reportedly spotted last month filming what seems to be a music video for their unit debut. Reports indicate that Chanyeol and Sehun have completed the MV filming and are already on the final stages of album preparations.
Other than the confirmation of the unit debut month, SM Entertainment has yet to reveal the name of the new group or drop any teaser for them. Chanyeol and Sehun's unit is not the first sub-unit of EXO. Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin's sub-unit, EXO-CBX, was introduced in 2016 and became the first subgroup of the K-pop band.
Meanwhile, Sehun will be joining his other EXO bandmates, Suho, Kai, Baekhyun, and Chen, as guest judges in the upcoming episode of JTBC Stage K. The group will be judging teams from the United States, Belarus, Japan, and Thailand that will do dance covers of some of their hit songs.
JTBC has released some new teaser photos of the group's appearance on the show and it features the hilarious traits of the EXO members. In one photo Baekhyun is seen with a tape attached under his eyes to look like tears. In another, Kai seems to be embarrassed as he tries to hide his face while the other members stare. Another photo shows the group having fun at the judges' table.
JTBC has earlier released a teaser clip for the episode as well. The EXO episode of Stage K is set to air on June 9 at 9 p.m. KST.
Additionally, EXO-L will also be seeing the group in the upcoming SMTOWN Live 2019 in August. However, EXO will be participating in the event with only six members.
D.O. will not be joining EXO in the event in Tokyo, Japan as he is set to start his military enlistment on July 1. EXO member, Xiumin, will also miss the event as he already started his military service. As for Lay, SME already confirmed that he will join this year's SMTOWN Live because of his schedule.
