'Outlander' Season 5 Shares First Behind-The-Scene Video Of Production; Sam Heughan Teases More Adventures For The Frasers
Outlander Season 5 has shown how fun the cast and crew are having while filming the fifth installment of the Starz drama. Starz has released a behind-the-scenes video on the set location of the series and it also confirmed the other characters that viewers will be seeing in the upcoming season.
The clip opened with the Frasers taking a family photo at the Fraser's Ridge which is built somewhere in Scotland. Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) will be joined by Brianna (Sophie Skelton), Roger (Richard Rankin), and their baby in the midst of the looming American Revolution. At one point in the BTS video, Brianna is seen giving Roger a shooting lesson.
The video also features other cast members such as Duncan Lacroix (Murtagh Fitzgibbons Fraser), César Domboy (Fergus Fraser), Lauren Lyle (Marsali Fraser), and Caitlin O'Ryan (Lizzie Wemyss). It looks like Murtagh will seek refuge at the Fraser's North Carolina homestead for the meantime.
It can be recalled that in Outlander Season 4 finale, Jaime received an order from Governor Tryon (Tim Downie) about the Regulators. He tasked Jamie to lead a militia group that will hunt down the Regulators and captures its leader, Murtagh. Fergus and Marsali could be joining Murtagh as they have helped the latter on his mission.
Murtagh will appear in Outlander Season 5 which means the TV adaptation will continue to depart from the book series. The Outlander TV series is Diana Gabaldon novels. The fifth installment is based on her fifth book, titled The Fiery Cross.
Meanwhile, Balfe, who also serves as a producer on the show, is seen revealing to the audience that Fraser Ridge will continue to play a major part of Season 5, just like in the previous installment. Heughan added that the upcoming season will also revolve around home and family. In Season 5, Jamie and Claire will not only protect their own family but also communities of settlers in the area.
Heughan also teased that the family adventure will continue next season. Duncan, on the other hand, gave a special shoutout to Outlander fans, calling them the "greatest fan base of all time."
Outlander Season 5 is set to film in several locations in Europe. It is expected to premiere in the fall.
