Sky has advised clients who watch porn that a US adult entertainment firm is demanding cash. While Sky holds back before advising clients not to pay, it encourages them to "carefully read the letter", according to BBC.

Golden Eye International wrote to Sky asserting "that a number of Sky Broadband customers engaged in unlawful file sharing of some of its films," Daily Star reported.

Julian Becker, Golden Eye director told BBC that letters would be sent to thousands of Sky customers.

The company has gathered evidence of individual broadband accounts through unique IP addresses where file sharing took place.

It is possible Sky broadband customers will simply pay Golden Eye International rather than facing the embarrassment of fighting a legal battle against an adult company.

This is not the first time Golden Eye International has demanded cash from illegal downloaders, Express revealed.

Golden Eye International and adult firm Ben Dover are behind the letters.

Simon James Honey, known as Ben Dover, is an English pornography actor, director, and producer. He was inducted into the AVN Hall of fame in 2011. Honey was included in Larry Flynt's Hustler's Top 50 Most influential People in Porn list.

Honey set up Golden Eye International with Julian Becker in 2008, which claims to be the holder of numerous film copyrights, mostly those of Ben Dover.

Ben Dover Productions announced that it was holding the administration of the Anti-Piracy Group to handle the issue of DVD piracy.

The company claimed their business and benefits had plunged due to organized crime gangs flooding the streets of pirated DVD's of their titles.

In 2012, the High Court ordered O2, a telecommunications service provider, to hand over details of its customers to Golden Eye. However, the court deemed it "unsupported and unsupportable: and the account users couldn't automatically be assumed to be guilty of alleged copyright violation.
