Jamie Foxx's Daughter, Corinne, Is Miss Golden Globe 2016; Actor 'Happy And Emotional'
Jamie Foxx's daughter Corinne was named as Miss Golden Globe 2016.
On Tuesday, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced that Corinne Foxx would be Miss Golden Globe for the ceremony in January next year. She is the daughter of the 2005 Golden Globe awardee, Jamie Foxx, and currently in senior year studying at the University of Southern California, according to Page Six.
She also recently started her career in modelling and debuted for Icing accessories and jewelries collection.
"Throughout the years I've grown up watching my dad establish himself as a well-respected actor," Corinne said according to Daily Mail. "I'm honored that HFPA has given me the opportunity to now share the same stage where he's been recognized for some of his greatest accomplishments," she added.
The representative for the awarding ceremony will be either a son or daughter of a veteran Hollywood actor that will be dubbed as Miss or Mr. Golden Globe, whom will assist during the event. Former Mr. and Miss Golden Globe are Sosie Bacon, Sam Fox, Greer Grammer and Francesca Eastwood.
The President of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, Lorenzo Soria said that, "Like her father, she leads a fine example of following her dreams and we can't wait to see what she does next," according to Variety.
The 20-year-old model can't deny that she is excited for the event and the honor that was given to her. "I've known for about 3 weeks. Maybe like a month and I was so excited," she said reported by People.
"I had all of this energy and I'm not lying, for an hour straight, just jumped around my house and was bouncing off the walls, and was Googling all of this stuff about Miss Golden Globes so I was really excited," she added.
She also revealed that her father, Jamie Foxx got a bit emotional about the news and got teary eyed as an expression of happiness for his daughter.
The 73rd annual Golden Globes will be hosted by Ricky Gervais and will be aired via NBC on Jan. 10.
