Apple Watch Charging Dock Images Leaked Online; No Official Statement Released
Leaked images of the alleged new Apple Watch charging dock is making rounds in the Internet about its availability.
The new charging dock comes in color white and is capable of charging the Apple Watch lying flat or vertically, which will make a good use of "nightstand mode.
It is still unclear on what materials was used for the "magnetic charging dock" since it hasn't been officially released to the public. Fans are speculating that it might be built out of silicon just basing on the leaked photos, according to The Verge.
The leaked photos of the Apple Watch charging dock was from a German blog that showed a round device, almost like a CD. Its middle portion can be flipped up as a support to either horizontal or vertical charging position of the watch. The lightning cable is plugged in at the side to match the design's minimalist style, reported by TechRadar.
The photo was captured from a store in Berlin, Germany however, is still not available for online purchases. The charging dock costs €89, and is speculated to cost $90 once it's available in United States. As of the moment, the Apple Watch charging dock seemed to be only available at the Apple stores in Berlin since the company hasn't released an official statement yet, according to 9 To 5 Mac.
An unboxing video of the charging dock was shared on YouTube to provide a glimpse of the new product's appearance.
Despite the leaked images and video, Apple is still exclusively selling Elevation Lab's NightStand Apple Watch dock for $30 with colors that match the device, according to Macworld.
There are several Apple Watch docks already available from third party manufacturers since the watch's launch in April. However, they were built vertically to avoid the use of the device's "nightstand mode" feature, according to AppleInsider.
