K-Pop Groups April 2019 Comeback Lineup: BTS, BLACKPINK, TWICE, & More
It is a very busy (and expensive) month for K-pop fans all over the world. EXO member Chen has kicked off the month with the released on his solo album, April, and a Flower, on April 1. But Chen is not the only K-pop idol that is returning this month. There are several K-pop groups that are set to drop new albums too.
BTS
Expectations are on the roof for the comeback of the Billboard chart-topping K-pop group. BTS is set to drop their new album Map of the Soul: Persona on April 12. The album's pre-sale order has already exceeded 2.6 million and broke the group's previous record.
The group has also dropped the comeback trailer as well as the teaser concept photos for the new album and ARMY can no longer wait to get their hands on BTS's new offering. Additionally, the Bangtan Boys will be making their first U.S. comeback showcase at Saturday Night Live on April 13. The "Idol" hitmakers are also set to embark on another world tour, titled Speak Yourself, starting on May 4.
BLACKPINK
The buzz about BLACKPINK's comeback is getting louder as the YG's female group is about to release their comeback album this week. The long drought from BLACKPINK new music is coming to an end on April 5 when the group releases new mini-album Kill This Love.
Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa have already released the tracklist for their comeback mini-album and it consists of four new songs. The album will include five songs in total: the title song "Kill This Love", sub-title "Don't Know What to Do", "Kick It", "Hope Not", and a remix of their hit song "DDU-DU DDU-DU". All of the songs for the EP are composed, written, and produced by YG's long-time producer-songwriter Teddy.
TWICE
Another anticipated comeback this year is from TWICE. Although JYP Entertainment has yet to announce a comeback date for the nine-member group, it is expected to be happening before the month ends. TWICE released their most recent EP, Yes or Yes, on November 5.
TWICE performed for their fans at the Tokyo Dome in Japan over the weekend. They are about to wrap their first-ever Japan dome tour, titled #Dreamday, Nagoya on April 6 and a new a release of a new album is expected to follow.
IZ*ONE
April may not be complete without the comeback from IZ*ONE. The K-pop female rookie group has just dropped a new album, HEART*IZ, on April 1. Everyone is excited about what the 12-member group could offer next after the success of their first EP, Color*Iz, and its lead track "La Vie en Rose."
WINNER
YG Entertainment boss Yang Hyun Suk confirmed in February that WINNER has completed the recording of songs for their new album. However, the label hasn't announced an exact release date for the album.
The group released their second studio album, EVERYD4Y, along with the title track "Everyday" in April 2018. Now, K-pop fans are expecting that WINNER will be making a comeback this month too.
