BLACKPINK Takes Modern Tomb Raider Look For 'Kill This Love' Group Poster + Jennie & Liza Meet Pharrell Williams
BLACKPINK channeled their adventurous personalities in the new poster for their upcoming mini-album Kill This Love. Meanwhile, members Jennie and Lisa were able to meet American rapper Pharrell Williams.
BLACKPINK has dropped their first group photo for Kill This Love album and it shows the members in a Lara Croft-inspired outfit. Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa are seen standing in what seems to be ruins and a huge head statue is seen toppled in the background. The Tomb Raider concept has so far received positive feedback from fans.
YG Entertainment earlier released the individual promo posters of the members. In the posters, Lisa got a shorter ash hair while Jennie is sporting a platinum blonde for the first time. Jisoo's red hair compliments the poster background and Rosé in lighter red hair color and edgy black dress.
Kill This Love is BLACKPINK's follow up to their album Square Up which was released last summer. According to YG Entertainment, fans can expect a more powerful "Kill This Love" than the group's chart-topping song "DDU-DU DDU-DU.'"
The label also boasts that the song's choreography was created by four world-famous choreographers and it is more dynamic than any of the choreography that the K-pop female group has released so far. YG assured that BLACKPINK's comeback will satisfy the anticipation of fans particularly the group's international followers.
Kill This Love's lead track of the same title was composed and produced by YG's long-time producer Teddy. The album will drop on April 5 ahead of the North America leg of BLACKPINK In Your Area 2019 world tour. The U.S. tour of the group will kick off on April 17 in California.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK members Jennie and Lisa had a chance to meet and chill out with Pharrell Williams in Seoul this week. The American rapper had his Chanel Pharrell Williams Capsule Collection Launch Event in South Korea on Thursday where Jennie is invited to perform with the "Happy" singer.
The two put on a killer performance. Pharrell performed his hit songs while Jennie sang various songs including her solo single, "SOLO" and a cover of "Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You." Their performances are currently trending on different social media sites.
Jennie's bandmate Lisa also attended the event and got the chance to take photos with Pharrell. Like Jennie, Lisa also shared her photo with Pharrell on her social media accounts.
