'Goblin' Star Kim Min Jae Confirmed To Lead Star In Upcoming Historical K-Drama
Korean actor Kim Min Jae has been confirmed to appear as the lead male character in the upcoming K-drama Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency. The same Korean historical drama is the same series that former Wanna One member Park Ji Hoon is in talks for.
Kim's agency, Stone Music Entertainment, confirmed that the Goblin actor has already agreed to appear in the JTBC's upcoming TV drama. Kim Min Jae is reportedly taking one of the lead roles, possibly the role of a king.
Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency is based on a book series of the same name. It tells the story of a king who makes a request to best dating agency during the Joseon Dynasty, the Flower Crew, to protect his first love. Upon his request, the matchmakers at the agency risk their own lives to transform the lowly woman, Gae Ddong, into the noblest woman in Joseon.
Kim Min Jae made his acting debut in the 2014 South Korean-Vietnamese drama Forever Young. The following year, he appeared in Persevere, Goo Haera and participated in Show Me the Money 4 as one of the contestants. His most notable K-drama appearances are in Dr. Romantic and Guardian: The Lonely and Great God in 2016, and his cameo in Netflix's Mr. Sunshine last year.
He hosted MBC's Show! Music Core from 2015 to 2016. Kim Min Jae also played a lead role in MBC's Tempted in 2018.
It was earlier reported that former Wanna One member Park Ji Hoon and Mama Fairy and the Woodcutter actor Seo Ji Hoon have also received offers to star in Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency. Both actors are positively considering the offers.
Park Hi Joon's agency, Maroo Entertainment, said the offer from Flower Crew is just one of the K-dramas that the singer-actor is currently reviewing. Ji Hoon is set to release his solo debut album later this month.
There were also reports that Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo actor Byeon Woo Seok has been offered a role in the drama as well. The female cast of Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency is yet to be announced.
Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency is expected to premiere in September. It will take the Monday-Tuesday timeslot on JTBC.
