As another year started, several South Korean online sites have revealed the K-pop artists and groups that did best in 2018. Korean search engine Naver released its top 10 most searched K-pop groups last year while live video streaming service V Live dropped its winner of 2019 Global Top 10.

Naver is the leading internet content service provider in South Korea. V Live, on the other hand, is a streaming service which Korean celebrities often use to broadcast live videos on the internet and chat with their fans from around the world.

In both sites, BTS has dominated the categories for 2018. According to Naver (via AllKpop), the septet is the most-searched K-pop group in 2018 with over 69.6 million searches. The "Idol" is followed by Wanna One with 22.7 million searches and TWICE with 19.2 million.

Meanwhile, V Live has named its top 10 K-pop artists of the year as well as the winners for best channels, top rookie groups, video of the year, and more for its 2019 Global Top 10 event. The winners were based on online voting that V Live conducted from December 17 to December 31.

V Live announced the Top 10 Best Artists and the No. 1 spot goes to BTS. This makes the group the overall winner for Best Artist title. EXO is at the second spot and they are followed by Red Velvet, Soompi noted.

The Bangtan Boys also took home the top spots on Best Channel and Best V Original categories. The BTS's V Live account is the only channel on the site that has over 10 million followers which makes them an automatic winner for the category. The K-pop sensation also took Best V Original award for their Run BTS series while member Jungkook won the Video of the Year award.

BTS is set to receive their Best Artist award at the 33rd Golden Disc Awards on January 5. The winners for the other categories will receive trophies during the V Live re:memVer Party in February.

Meanwhile, K-pop fans will be treated with the first awards ceremony this year: the Golden Disc Awards. The Two-night event will kick off on January 5 where awards for digital releases will be given away. The awards for the physical album releases will be on January 6.

Both ceremonies will take place at the Gocheok SkyDome. It will also air live via JTBC, JTBC2, and JTBC4. The K-pop acts that are confirmed to attend the event are BTS, Wanna One, TWICE, iKON, BLACKPINK, GOT7, SEVENTEEN, MAMAMOO, MOMOLAND, Nu'est W, MONSTA X, GFriend, (G)I-DLE, IZ*ONE, and Stray Kids. ChungHa, Roy Kim, and Mino will also attend the event.
