Tyra Banks Rumored To Exit 'America's Got Talent'; Supermodel Gives Special Year-End Shout-Out To K-Pop BTS
Tyra Banks is may not return in the next season of America's Got Talent. But regardless of what show she might be on next, she has already gained new followers: The BTS's Army.
The New York Post's Page Six reported that Banks will be leaving the NBC talent competition show to focus on producing TV shows and movies and to act more. The America's Next Top Model creator first acted as host of AGT in Season 12 as a replacement for Nick Cannon, who stepped down in 2017 following a controversial comedy routine.
Banks recently hinted that she might not return in AGT Season 14 to focus on a big project next year. In an interview with Access last month, Banks admitted that she has no idea if she is coming back in AGT. She also revealed that she will be focusing on her TV film Life-Size and on a "massive project" that she will start in 2019.
"It is so massive. It's really making me look at everything that I'm doing and saying, 'What can I peel off? What can I not do? What can I truly focus on?' It's coming out in the fall of next year," she said.
Banks-produced Life-Size 2 premiered on Freeform on December 2. It is the sequel to her 2000 film with Lindsay Lohan. According to Page Six, Banks has received a number of offers to act, produce, and create more TV shows following the success of the sequel.
So far, Banks has yet to confirm whether or not she will leave AGT. Instead, she posted a shout-out to her new friends, the Korean pop sensation BTS and it's Army, and reflected on the fun memories she had on AGT with BTS. In her post on Twitter, The Tyra Banks Show producer recalls the time she met the septet at the Billboard Music Awards back in May and had a reunion with them when the boys perform at AGT in September.
"This #Tylight from 2018 is when I met the super sexy BTS boyzzzzz. We made friends at the @bbma's, did some boomerangs, I did some fierce hair flips as I jammed out to their song #Idol, and then we got them to perform on @agt! Kpop ain't goin' nowhere! It's here, baby!!," she wrote along with the hashtag #BTSarmy and her photos with the seven members of BTS.
Many members of the BTS fandom retweeted Banks' post and expressed their gratitude to the smize queen. This almost guarantees that whatever Banks will do next, the BTS Army will certainly support her.
