EXO's Lay & Khalid Spend Time Together In A Studio; Tease Future Collaboration

Fans of EXO member Lay Zhang could hear a collaboration song from him and American singer Khalid soon. The two hinted a future team up in a photo shared on social media recently.

Music app Shazam posted on Wednesday a photo of the two in a recording studio. It is quite vague if the two recorded a song together or just met at the studio as no other detail are provided in the photo. Still, many fans assumed that the two are working on a music together.

Nonetheless, both of their fandoms are excited of what is about to come from Khalid and Lay. Many have shared their thoughts on social media about the possibility of a Khalid and Lay collaboration.

"I smell a masterpiece collaboration song!" a fan commented on Shazam photo.

"Wow I smell fire @layzhang and @thegreatkhalid what a legend collaboration! Can't wait to hear their music," another wrote.

Chinese idol Lay had a couple of collaborative projects in the past. His latest album Namanana contains a collaboration song with American singer/songwriter Bazzi.

Moreover, when Lay made his first US appearance at the Lollapalooza music festival where he teamed up with American DJ and music producer Alan Walker. The duo, later on, worked on a remix version of Lay's single "Sheep." Their song is titled "Sheep Relift" and it was released on August 30.

As for Khalid, he had known for his collaboration songs with several artists. He had done "Homemade Dynamite (Remix)" with Lorde and Post Malone, "Silence" with Marshmello, "Rollin" with Calvin Harris and Future, "Youth" with Shawn Mendes, "Eastside" with Halsey and Benny Blanco, "Love Lies" with Normani, and more. Most recently, he and Elton John team up for a new rendition of his "Young Dumb and Broke" song.

Both Khalid and Lay released their latest albums on October 19. Khalid dropped his EP, titled Suncity, on October 19 with the title single "Better". The EP debuted at number eight on the Billboard 200.

EXO member Lay, on the other hand, released his third studio album Namanana on the same day. The album will contain 22 songs. Namanana debuted at 21 on the Billboard 200 chart, the highest ranking a Mandarin pop artist ever achieved. Lay is currently in the US to promote the album.

Lay also joined his EXO bandmates on the group's latest album Don't Mess Up My Tempo which was released on November 2. It was the group's first release as nine members since Lotto in 2016.
