Bae Suzy 2018 Update: Lee Dong Wook Ex Donates 100 Million Won To Charity On Her Birthday
Korea's A-list singer-turned-actress Suzy is not just a pretty face and a talented artist. She is a kind person too.
Suzy celebrated her 24th birthday on October 10. On this special day, she donated 100 million won ($88,330) for the treatment of pediatric cancer and leukemia patients. Apparently, this is not the first Suzy gave out millions for the same cause.
"Just as she did last year, Suzy gave 100 million won [this year]. We are thankful to Suzy for leading the march to create a healthy society with a bright future," representative of Life Share Association said (via Soompi).
The organization is referring to the 100 million won that Suzy also donated in March 2017. The donation aims to support the medical treatment and physical therapy of patients in South Korea.
The While You Were Sleeping actress has been supporting other foundations too. Earlier this year, she made donations to a foundation for single mothers and a fund that supports educational and environmental improvement in Vietnam and Laos.
In 2015, Suzy has also been named as the second female idol that became a member of the Honor Society of the Community Chest of Korea after Girls' Generation's YoonA. The elite group is consists of people who donated or pledged to donate 100 million won or more to the organization. At the time, Lee Dong Wook ex-girlfriend expressed her desire to help children who are suffering from cancer and other incurable diseases. Other known celebrity member of the Honor Society is My Love From The Star actor Park Hae Jin.
The singer also previously offered 50 million won to the victims of the Sewol ferry disaster in April 2014. The sea tragedy took the lives of more than 300 people including students.
Meanwhile, Suzy is currently filming her upcoming 2019 K-drama Vagabond. She will star in the TV series along with her Gu Family Book co-star Lee Seung Gi.
Vagabond is about a stuntman who dreams of becoming a world famous action actor. Cha Gun (Lee) survives a plane crash but it changes his life after he gets involved in the investigation of the incident. He finds a conspiracy behind the plane crash and subsequently, he digs into the country's deep corruption.
Suzy will play the role of NIS agent Go Hae Ri. All her character wants is to be a regular agent but she becomes a black agent who does espionage missions.
Suzy and Lee have proven their great chemistry on screen in 2013 drama Gu Family Book. In fact, they won the Best Couple award at the 2013 MBC Drama Awards. Fans can't wait to see them back on television again.
