It is just a decade in the entertainment industry for Song Joong Ki but he already accomplished so much. In his recent fan meet, Song shared to his fans his humble beginning as well as the true friends he met throughout the years.

Song's meet-and-greet event was held at the Kyung Hee University Peace Hall over the weekend. During the event, Song shares some of the most amusing stories he had during the filming of his TV show or movie. The Descendants Of The Sun actor also closely interacted with his fans. He read personal stories sent in by his followers and responded to all of them.

Song made his acting debut in the 2008 period film A Frozen Flower. His breakout role came in 2010 historical drama Sungkyunkwan Scandal. After his two-year military service, he came back on TV with the popular drama Descendants of the Sun alongside Song Hye Kyo. It was a huge hit in Asia, making Song Joong Ki as one of the top actors in the region.

Meanwhile, another highlight of Song Joong Ki's fan meet was the appearance of his closest friends in the industry. Some of them who were not able to make to the event because of their busy schedule sent a video message for Song instead. One of them is Song's close buddy Park Bo Gum.

The Love In The Moonlight actor couldn't make it as he also started with the filming of his upcoming K-drama, Boyfriend, alongside Song's wife, Song Hye Kyo. Although Song Joong Ki and Park Bo Gum haven't worked together in a show, they are close friends as they are both under the same agency, Blossom Entertainment.

Other stars who sent their messages congratulating Song on his anniversary are So Ji Sub, Park Bo Young, Jin Goo, Cha Tae Hyun, Kim Jong Kook, and Yoo Yeon Seok. Those who made it to the fan meet are Song's best friend and his former Running Man co-star Lee Kwang Soo, 2PM member Junho, and actor Min Suk.

Song and Lee showed off how comfortable they are with each other as they bicker on stage. The two also played a virtual reality me in front of the audience. Junho and Kim, on the other hand, shared Song's daily routine to his fans.

Towards the end of the fan meet, the Battleship Island actor also read his handwritten letter for his fans. He expressed his gratitude to his followers for their support for the last ten years. He also vowed to work harder to become a better actor and also "completely different" years to come, teasing possible different roles to play in the screen.

"I've met so many great colleagues up until now. It's thanks to them that I was able to make it this far. From now on, I'm thinking of working hard once again to create 10 years that are completely different [from the last 10 years].

I will pour my everything into showing you new sides of myself, better acting, and my continuing hard work. It was an honor to spend the last 10 years together with all of you. I love you," Song Joong Ki said (via Soompi).

Song is currently preparing for his role in the period-drama Asadal Chronicles. He will play the lead male character, Eun Seom, who is a cursed child born in Blue Stone Village under an ominous sign. He later becomes the conqueror of Asadal.

The series is expected to premiere in the first half of 2019. It is Song's comeback TV project since the success of DOTS in 2016 and his wedding with Song Hyo Kyo.
