Song Joong Ki, Song Hye Kyo 2018: Will The 'Descendants of the Sun' Stars Have A Reunion Project?

There is no denying that Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo remains to be two of the most popular South Korean celebrities to date. Most, if not all, are aware that the Song-Song couple fell in love with each other while filming the 2016 hit series titled Descendants of the Sun. Initially, the pair did not want to publicize their relationship as they only want to keep it as private as possible.

However, Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo shocked their fans when they announced their plans to tie the knot in July 2017. The Descendants of the Sun lead stars exchanged their wedding vows on Oct. 31, 2017, at Shilla Hotel in Seoul City. Since then, the Song-Song couple has been making lesser public appearances.

Recently, Channel News Asia confirmed that Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo are totally appearing on small screens very soon. However, the news outlet clarified that the Song-Song couple is not working on the same project. The Descendants of the Sun actor previously revealed in a press conference in Singapore that having a reunion project with his wife is very unlikely to happen at the moment.

Song Joong Ki claimed that working with Song Hye Kyo would be a challenge. "Work is work, so it may be a little tough to be in the same production," the Descendants of the Sun actor stated. Despite this, it was revealed that the 32-year-old South Korean actor will be reunited with another DOTS co-star, Kim Ji Won, in the imminent new historical fantasy series titled Asadal.

While there are no other details revealed about the upcoming show, reports suggested that Asadal will air sometime in 2019. Aside from Song Hye Kyo's husband, Song Joong Ki, and Kim Ji Won, other stars who will appear on the series include Kim Ok Bin and Jang Dong Gun.

Meanwhile, Song Hye Kyo will also be returning to the small screen via a new show called Boyfriend. Reports have it that the 36-year-old Asian superstar will take the lead role alongside Song Joong Ki's close pal. Park Bo Gum. The said series is set to premiere later this year.
