Getting over a failed relationship can be difficult to do, with broken-hearted individuals typically turning to family or friends for support or busying themselves with hobbies or work. Amidst the break-up drama between Liam Payne and Cheryl Cole, it appears that the One Direction alum found new inspiration in the K-pop group BTS.

Liam Payne praised the seven-member boy band during a recent broadcast of iHeartRadio's Ask Anything. Released on July 4, the short video clip featured the One Direction singer answering questions sent in by viewers. One fan asked the former X-Factor contestant to share his opinion about BTS and whether he can be in a group like the said K-pop band.

Describing BTS as an "amazing" but "tough group" to join, Liam Payne highlighted the K-pop band's dancing abilities and vocal prowess. He even commented on how BTS members V, Jungkook, Jimin, Suga, Jin, RM, and J-Hope can do "great" solo performances. The One Direction alum also praised the seven-member group's dancing which he identified as reminiscent of "military" style moves.

Despite having been part of a band before, Liam Payne admitted that he might not be a perfect fit for a group such as BTS. The singer even joked that it would be difficult for him to start a K-pop career since he does not speak Korean.

BTS fans might not see an honorary member in the "For You" crooner. However, the singer and songwriter disclosed that he wanted to work with the said South Korean group. Liam Payne revealed that he initially planned to collaborate with the multi-awarded K-pop band but later changed his mind. He explained, "I actually really wanted to do something with them earlier on, but someone else kind of beat me to it, so I kind of backed out."

Meanwhile, the One Direction alum surprised avid fans when he and girlfriend Cheryl Cole announced the end of their three-year relationship. In a social media message, both Liam Payne and the X-Factor judge asked for the fans' support to respect their decision and privacy. Posted on Twitter on July 2, the former admitted that breaking up was a difficult decision for them.

Liam Payne and Chery Cole started dating in March 2015. The two celebrities share a son together, 1-year-old Bear who celebrated his birthday on March 22.
