EXO Vs. BTS: Indonesian ARMYs’ Anti Page For SM Group Has Over 50,000 Members

While k-pop artists and groups just have some friendly and professional competition, fans, on the other hand, are taking things way too seriously. In fact, most artists and groups are good pals in real-life, while their fans are causing chaos on social media.

Take EXO and BTS for example. These K-pop groups respect each other a lot. And since the SM Entertainment boy group is an older band than the JYP Entertainment stars, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook look up to Xiumin, Suho, Lay, Baekhyun, Chen, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, and Sehun.

Unfortunately, their fans are causing a rival that never really existed in the first place. Now, ARMYs (BTS's fandom name) from Indonesia is taking the rivalry up a notch by starting an anti-EXO page. It currently has over 56,000 members and published more than 200 posts every day.

To be a member of the group, there were rules to be followed. One, the purpose is to “eradicate the germs that are EXO and EXO-Ls.“ Two, members should only talk about BTS. The third and final rule is that in the anti-EXO group, “haters are king.”

An EXO fan stumbled upon this unnecessary group and asked help from other K-pop supporters to report the page. Despite all the fan wars, there are still fans who support all groups and believe that this negativity should be stopped immediately. Understandably, some fans are still baffled as to why things had reached this point.

“56k people on that FB page have no lives but to hate a K-Pop group all day. What is wrong with them? Spending all of their lives hating a K-Pop group and making anti-fan forums and groups. I swear K-Pop fans on FB are also just as crazy as their Youtube counterparts,” one said. “All those times wasted and could’ve been used to support their faves,” another one commented.

Some Indonesian K-pop fans then shared their dismay after learning about the anti-EXO page. Some ARMYs also shared their support in reporting the page. All of the efforts finally paid off when the page seemed to have been removed from Facebook.
