G-Dragon Military Controversy: Netizens Furious Over BIGBANG Rapper’s Privacy Leak

G-Dragon recently received criticisms from disappointed fans following allegations that the K-pop idol received preferential treatment at a military hospital. However, many netizens had a change of heart after private details of the BIGBANG rapper was leaked online.

A social media post that revealed the BIGBANG leader's habits, medications, and tattoos enraged several netizens. Dubbed the "G-Dragon Observational Journal," the information was allegedly prepared by a soldier for his girlfriend who then shared it online. Confined to the same hospital as the K-pop idol, the said soldier even took note of the rapper's mole locations and other personal details.

After the said social media post became viral, G-Dragon supporters lashed out against the soldier for invading the rapper's privacy. Several netizens also described the soldier's actions as creepy and even demanded the said military personnel's arrest.

A few netizens also commented on G-Dragon's recent military controversy and shared several reasons on why he was allegedly given a VIP room during his hospital confinement. Highlighting how K-pop idols and famous stars are deprived of living a normal private life given their celebrity status, providing the BIGBANG leader a private room would be understandable.

G-Dragon supporters also stated that placing a K-pop idol in a normal ward would be chaotic. The said scenario might even escalate to a high-risk situation with the threat of reporters, fans or stalkers trying to gain access to the singer.

Meanwhile, YG Entertainment clarified reports of the BIGBANG band member allegedly staying in a VIP room. In an official statement released by the company, YG Entertainment indicated that the military hospital that G-Dragon is confined in does not have VIP rooms typically reserved for colonels only. After going through normal hospital procedures, the K-pop idol was placed in a private room that other soldiers also have access to.

G-Dragon underwent surgery on his ankle and took a sick leave from his army duties beginning June 19. Prior to his military enlistment, the BIGBANG leader sustained an ankle injury while completing his world concert tour. However, the injury worsened with several pieces of bone fragments causing damage to ligaments and muscles.

Apart from the surgery, the rapper will also undergo an ankle rehabilitation treatment at the military hospital. G-Dragon is expected to be discharged from the said medical facility on June 28.
