The History Channel series Vikings has already established Ragnar Lothbrok as the most fearsome man in England when he led his fellow Norsemen to attack several kingdoms. However, it looks like Travis Fimmel is the exact opposite of his brilliant character. The Australian actor has just opened up about working on the Michael Hirst show and even admitted that he is not capable of striking fear in the hearts of villagers.
Ragnar Lothbrok has already been killed off in the fourth season of Vikings but people are still hoping that Travis Fimmel will reprise his role in the hit series. Interestingly, Fimmel has confessed that he is considering a change in career that doesn't even involve his initial plans of becoming a farmer in Australia.
Travis Fimmel was recently interviewed on Last Call with Carson Daly where he promoted his new movie Lean On Pete. The former Vikings actor spoke about how he gets into a role, sharing that he usually flirts with the stylist to convince them to allow him to wear the same clothes through the whole film.
The former Vikings actor stated that shooting a movie is "like a Madonna concert, every 10 minutes you got to change." With that in mind, the real Ragnar Lothbrok declared that he "should do porn" instead because "at least you don't have to change every minute." When asked why he hasn't actually explored the possibility of stripping off for the cameras, Travis Fimmel quipped that "it'd be a short film."
There is little doubt that Travis Fimmel looks very different in Lean On Pete compared to his appearance in Vikings. The actor revealed that "it took a long time to prepare" for his role as Ragnar Lothbrok because the character had tattoos on his scalp and an elaborate hairstyle. Fimmel also credited the stunt people who made him "look a lot better" than he actually is when it comes to fighting.
So can Travis Fimmel take on a whole gang of people on his own? "Maybe in a cuddle contest," the Vikings star joked.
But what are the chances that Travis Fimmel will reprise his role as Ragnar Lothbrok in Vikings Season 5? There have been speculations that Ragnar will return in the second half of the fifth season to reunite with Lagertha before her death. However, Fimmel has not confirmed if he will have a cameo in the series anytime soon.
