‘Are You Human Too?’ Records Solid Ratings, Seo Kang Joon’s New Drama Holds Steady Versus ‘Partners For Justice,’ ‘Wok Of Love’
KBS' new drama Are You Human Too? appears to have captured the interest of viewers given its cast members, CGI effects, and cinematography. Headlined by Seo Kang Joon, the actor's new drama also posted steady ratings against the production's Monday-Tuesday primetime drama competitors Partners for Justice and Wok of Love.
After nearly one year in production, the pre-filmed series Are You Human Too? has finally hit the small screens. Released on June 4, the first and second episodes of Seo Kang Joon's new sci-fi robot drama recorded nationwide ratings of 5.2 percent and 5.9 percent, respectively, according to Nielsen Korea.
With only a small percentage difference between the said KBS production and other dramas, many fans are expecting Are You Human Too? to match the viewership shares already attained by its competitor dramas Partners for Justice and Wok of Love. The recent episodes of 2PM Junho's drama Wok of Love recorded nationwide ratings of 6 percent and 6.5 percent. Meanwhile, Partners for Justice episodes 13 and 14 posted viewership shares of 7 percent and 7.7 percent, respectively.
Despite Are You Human Too? landing at third place among competitor Monday-Tuesday primetime dramas, the KBS production's lead star Seo Kang Joon still gained accolades from viewers given his solid acting. Playing two roles in the drama, the Cheese in the Trap actor was praised for his portrayal of a robot and a human. Viewers also commented on the drama's use of computer graphics which looked very natural.
It appears that the additional focus on enhancing the technical aspects of the production drama played out beautifully in the show. In a recent press event held in Seoul on May 31, Are You Human Too? director Cha Young Hoon commented on the high quality of computer graphics that they utilized in Seo Kang Joon's new series. The filmmaker even compared the drama to big-budget films due to the CGI used and the huge scale of production.
