Girls' Generation Comeback: Only Five Members Of K-Pop Girl Group To Film New Reality Show In France
Only five members of Girls' Generation will be flying out to France for the filming of their new reality show. SM Entertainment has confirmed Taeyeon, Sunny, Yuri, Hyoyeon, and YoonA will be doing a brand new show in France.
All five members are signed under SM Entertainment. The rest of the group members -Sooyoung, Tiffany, and Seohyun-will not be joining their bandmates as they are under contract with different agencies. It can be recalled that in October 2017, the three decided not to renew their contracts with SM Entertainment to focus on their acting career. Girls' Generation, however, was not disbanded which means they could come back as one group in the future.
The upcoming Girls' Generation show has a vacation theme. Taeyeon, Sunny, Yuri, Hyoyeon, and YoonA will be seen enjoying a relaxing getaway in France while showing off their fun and charming side. Details about the show are still being kept under wraps.
The Girls' Generation's new show marks their comeback in the world of reality TV, hence it is expected to be huge. The girls were last seen in Channel Girls' Generation almost three years ago that featured all eight members of the group. It showcased the girls' skills in cooking, nail art, and more.
So far, there is still no word about the possible Girls' Generation comeback as an eight-member band. However, Hyoyeon earlier assured that they never disbanded and will come back when the right time comes.
"It could be an 11th anniversary, a 12th-anniversary project... We're currently focusing on our individual solo projects, but one day, sometime soon, we'll definitely come back to our fans. Together," she told Paper Magazine.
Meanwhile, aside from their upcoming reality show, some members of Girls' Generation are also in other TV series. Hyoyeon currently stars in JTBC's Secret Sister along with MAMAMOO's Wheein. In last week's episode, the two talked about dating and their ideal type. Secret Sister premiered earlier this month and it airs every Fridays at 8:30 p.m. KST on JTBC4.
YoonA, on the other hand, recently appeared in Hyori's Homestay 2. The show just aired its season finale. She also released a new solo single and its official music video. The lyrics of "To You" were written by YoonA while her Hyori's Homestay 2 co-star Lee Sang Soon composed the track. The singer is also slated to meet her fans in several countries in Asia in the coming months.
As for Hyoyeon, she changed her stage name to "DJ Hyo" and also made her solo comeback last month with the song "Sober." DJ Hyo also dropped the music video for the track featuring Ummet Ozcan.
