However, it looks like the Cloud Atlas actress has confirmed that there is nothing between her and the Mother star except their working relationship on the Netflix series. A report previously suggested that Bae Doona and Son Seok Gu have been dating since 2017 after meeting each other in Sense8 and since both are currently working under the same agency. The source even went as far as stating that the actors are "comfortable lovers that aren't concerned with others' opinions" and that the Mother star frequently visits the Jupiter Ascending actress' home. However, it has been revealed that the relationship between Bae Doona and Son Seok Gu is completely platonic.
According to Soompi, SBD Entertainment released a statement about Bae Doona and Son Seok Gu's alleged relationship. "They are just close colleagues," the statement read. The agency confirmed that the actors "appeared in Sense8 together, but they are not dating." But is it possible that the Cloud Atlas actress is simply too busy for romance at the moment?
The Sense8 finale is only a few weeks away, but it looks like Bae Doona is not particularly concerned with the series being canceled. After all, she has already successfully returned to Korean television with Stranger last year and is set for another Netflix show titled Kingdom, which was supposed to be led by Descendants of the Sun actor Song Joong Ki. The series will focus on a zombie epidemic during the Joseon Dynasty in Korea. In addition to that, the actress is expected to reunite with the Wachowskis as well as J. Michael Straczynski on a new project in the future.
