'This Is Us' Teases Petition To Billboard Music Awards To Make Chrissy Metz As The Show's Only Presenter Of Winners

Many praised This Is Us star Chrissy Metz's dress in the recent 2018 Billboard Music Awards. But more than her fashion style, Metz was also lauded on how she presented the Top Social Artist winner-BTS.

The Korean boy band scored their second trophy from the Billboard Music Awards and it was delivered by one of the most-popular TV personality today-Chrissy Metz. The This Is Us actress announced the winner of Top Social Artist category in a most exciting way possible and many believed that it was the best announcement ever throughout the night.

Metz hit the stage along with This Is Us costar Justin Hartley amidst the loud cheer from the crowd. All throughout the segment, the crowd continues to cheer for their favorite artist that is nominated in the category. When Metz finally announced this year's Top Social Artist and it was BTS, the thunderous cheer from the audience erupted.

Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook quickly stood in disbelief while their Army and the celebrities in the crowd applauded as they took the stage. The "Fake Love" hitmakers thanked their fans for their second win at the BMAs.

Metz's style of pronouncing the winner was quickly shared online. The actress was lauded for saying the name of the artist clearly and showing the cue card where the name of "BTS" was written. This proves that authenticity of the result and avoiding the viewers to cast doubts on the presenter.

This prompted the official Twitter account of This Is Us to initiate a "petition" asking BMA to make Metz the only presenter of winners in the succeeding Billboard Music Awards' nights. It is not clear if the show really started a petition as it did not share a link to the petition. Nonetheless, This Is Us fans are thrilled with the idea, some already asking where to sign up.

Metz retweeted the This Is Us post and simply captioned it with "Ya gotta mix it up sometimes!" It could be a simple act for the actress but for both This Is Us and BTS fans, the moment is comparable to the best episode of the NBC drama and the best hit of the K-pop band.

"I love This Is Us and @BTS_twt so this was a dream come true for me," one fan commented.

BTS won their second consecutive Top Social Artist award from BMAs. Additionally, this is also the second year the K-pop group defeated Justin Bieber in the same category. Bieber consistently won the award since the category was created seven years ago. BTS broke the Canadian singer's winning streak when the Korean boy group first won the award last year, making them the first ever K-pop group to receive a BMA award.

Meanwhile, aside from being impressive presenters, Metz and Hartley were also praised for their chic attire at the event in Las Vegas' MGM Grand Garden Arena. Many were blown away by Metz's black dress. The This Is Us Season 3 actress wore a custom Jean Paul Ataker black lace dress, an L'Afshar clutch, L'Dezen earrings, and Ann Taylor shoes.
