DIA Member Eunjin Quits The K-Pop Group Amidst Bad Behavior & Tension With Her Bandmates [Rumor]
K-pop idol Eunjin has quit DIA due to health reasons. Many netizens were not surprised of Eunjin's decision to leave the Korean female group as rumors about her quitting the band has been circling the industry for quite some time now.
In a lengthy handwritten letter posted on a fan café for DIA fans, Eunjin announced that she is taking a break from her singing career because she is struggling with fear and anxiety. Eunjin explained that she decided to quit in order to focus on her health, which she claimed deteriorated last year.
She also apologized for the times that she behaved badly, saying she had gone through a very difficult time due to health issues at the time. Eunjin added that she decided to leave to make it less difficult for bandmates to move on with DIA activities. She believed that she can no longer help DIA especially now that the band is preparing for their comeback.
"I've really thought about it for a long time, and this is a decision that I've come to after a lot of thought. I'm sorry again to give you this pain. I hope that the people I love, and those that love me, will not be hurt by my decision," Eunjin said (via AllKpop).
Meanwhile, DIA also released a statement about Eunjin's departure. The band said they respect Eunjin's decision and extends their support to their bandmate. DIA also asked their fans, who are called AID, to continue to cheer for Eunjin as she tries to address her health issues.
"We tried for a while to be together with Eunjin, but as we watched Eunjin suffer and be exhausted, we were also hurt. We started with her and wanted to go with her until the end, and we are sad that we cannot, and we are sorry more than anything to AID," DIA said in their letter to their fans.
DIA fans earlier noticed that they haven't seen Eunjin with her bandmates for a couple of months now. She was last seen with DIA during MBC's 2018 Idol Star Athletics Championships in February. Some also claimed that Eunjin's fan sites have already been deactivated. All of these further fueled speculations that the singer has problems with her bandmates and could be leaving DIA soon.
The rumors about Eunjin departing DIA started during the band's comeback showcase for their new album YOLO last year. In the middle of the event, Eunjin was rushed to the hospital reportedly due to difficulty in breathing.
Some netizens, however, speculate that Eunjin was taken out of the event for a totally different reason. Those who were watching the showcase through V Line claimed Eunjin was very uncooperative throughout the event.
Eunjin was spotted having a hard time following their dance choreography. At one point, she stopped dancing and suddenly went backstage. Others also pointed out that Eunjin just stood still on stage while the other members of DIA danced.
"She was standing still the whole time and not dancing while others were. I think the illness thing is just an excuse and there's trouble among members," one netizen commented.
