'Dragon Ball Super' Movie Theories & Spoilers: New Planet Might Be Connected To One Of The Main Villains
The hype surrounding the Dragon Ball Super movie is growing bigger as time goes by. As a few teasers about the film are now emerging, there's newly-dropped information that could indicate the film's major plot. It was earlier revealed the movie will have at least one new planet. Now, fans are wondering what this planet could be.
In a recent interview with Akio Iyoku, the Dragon Room chief who is looking after the anime adaptation of the franchise at Toei Animation, revealed some major details of the upcoming Dragon Ball Super movie, per Otakuart. This information was translated and shared by Herms98 on Twitter, and this involved the introduction of a new planet.
The Dragon Ball Super movie will reportedly have a "multilayered story." Some parts of it would be set in both the past and the present, and have multiple settings. "Toriyama's provided the story and over 20 sheets of designs, including characters, machines, and at least one new planet," the tweet continued.
It has been known Goku already visited a number of different planets throughout his journey in the franchise. Although fans have been predicting the introduction of some new places in the Dragon Ball Super movie, this new information just confirmed the coming of a new planet.
In fact, in the film's official trailer, the famous Saiyan was seen doing his warm-up dance on an unknown planet. He seemed to be preparing for a big battle against another mysterious Saiyan. The teaser then ended with an intriguing tagline: "Earth has Goku."
So, it might be safe to assume the unknown planet has this mysterious Saiyan who could match and go head to head against Goku in the Dragon Ball Super movie. With that, fans are quick to predict what this planet could be. As seen in the trailer, the place is covered in ice and has a lot of mountains. Hence, according to Comic Book, this place could be the "long-lost home of Frieza's race."
However, if this planet is described to be "truly brand new," then this might be the first time it will be introduced to the anime franchise's viewers. It looks like fans will have to wait for more information about this new planet or wait for its release on December 14.
