NCIS Season 15 Episode 22, titled "Two Steps Back," is already being anticipated as one of the saddest episodes of the hit CBS show. Although it’s not a secret anymore that this will be the last time fans will see Pauley Perrette’s Abby Scuito in the police procedural television series, how her exit will be done remains to be a big mystery.

While fans are still scratching their heads as to how Abby Scuito will leave the show, CarterMatt shared a theory of her exit come NCIS Season 15 Episode 22. The site listed a couple of things that could possibly be the reason why Pauley Perrette’s character will decide to sign off.

Meanwhile, the NCIS Season 15 Episode 22 promo already teased Abby Scuito’s possible death. However, CarterMatt believes that she will not have a depressing end to her story, which leads to a possibility of her surviving her injuries. But the site also noted that NCIS is known for killing off major characters, so her death is still possible.

Since NCIS Season 15 Episode 22 is going to be Pauley Perrette's final appearance as Abby in the show, showrunners had to think of some creative ways for her to exit. With that said, the site compiled a couple of different reasons for Abby to still leave despite possibly surviving the shooting.

One of those reasons is for Abby to want to keep herself safe after the traumatic incident. There is also a chance that Clayton Reeves would die in NCIS Season 15 Episode 22, and Abby will feel the intense guilt of him dying just to help her survive.

Lastly, the aforementioned outlet shared that there is a chance that Abby might just want to explore the world outside NCIS. After possibly surviving the tragedy, Pauley Perrette’s character may get out from it with a brand new perspective about life. Seeing Abby checking off her bucket list could be a good ending for NCIS Season 15 Episode 22.
