Bill Cosby News: Actor Likely To Get Special Treatment In Jail; Divorce Rumors Circulate Amidst Prison Sentence
Bill Cosby might finally land in prison this time, though it may not all be "just desserts" for the old actor, as several factors suggest that he might get treated differently compared to most inmates. For those unfamiliar with what he did, Cosby has been deemed guilty after his trial involving several of the women he allegedly raped in the past, mostly by using a date-rape drug.
Unfortunately for those who have been seeking justice for what Cosby did, the 80-year-old Hollywood actor might not get too much of a hard time in lockup. This is because of his age, primarily, meaning he is not really that fit for regular jail treatment. Additionally, Cosby's bouts of near blindness due to his old age might provide all the more reasons for him to get special treatment in jail. On top of that, he is a celebrity in prison, which generally means an easier time for him compared to other inmates.
The said special treatment entails a fellow inmate who may get assigned to helping Cosby during his time in prison. The said inmate will then be tasked to escort Cosby around the prison for his daily routine—basically an assistant in jail. Furthermore, Cosby might also get an expert peer support specialist who will serve as a psychological guide for Cosby in his prison life transition.
If there is any consolation for those aggrieved by Cosby's misdeeds in the past, there are rumors right now that Bill and his wife Camille Cosby may be in for a divorce after 54 years of marriage. The said cause for divorce was not exactly Cosby's rape allegations but rather the death of their daughter Ensa at the age of 44 due to renal failure.
Camille suggested that Bill was the sole reason for Ensa's death due to the stress she incurred while adamantly defending her father's supposed innocence. And while Camille also defended Bill despite the overwhelming accusations, Ensa's death could have been the final straw in their marriage.
Right now, Bill is convicted of three counts of aggravated indecent assault as a result of the extensive trials involving the victims he allegedly raped in the past. Each count may well amount to as much as 10 to 30 years, meaning 80-year-old Bill could be in prison for at least three decades, but that all depends on the appeal of his party before his prison sentence begins after two months.
