It appears that Captain America tossed a huge spoiler instead of his mighty shield this time, as actor Chris Evans may have dropped and revealed some important details about the next Avengers movie. After Avengers: Infinity War, a lot of fans were left wondering what could be in store come Avengers 4, and Evans has taken the liberty of unveiling it.

This one is quite tragic though, so get ready: Captain America will probably die in Avengers 4for good this time. This much was hinted by Evans himself during one of his interviews with Entertainment Tonight regarding his role as Steve Rogers a.k.a. Captain America. During the said interview, Evans suggested that his role as the Captain in Avengers 4 will be his last since, as far he knows, his contract is over.

Another source, namely The New York Times, also did an interview with him, and he seemed to reinforce the fact that Avengers 4 will be his last stint as Captain America. He told the publication that he currently has no plans of returning to the franchise or renewing his contract with Marvel. Still, he might change his mind, or may even be purposely misleading publications to keep the plot a secret.

So it's either that or Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) will die since it seems that Avengers 4 is set to be something bigger than what Avengers: Infinity War has built upon. Avengers 4 is also touted as a turning point for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, one that will change or shake the very foundations of the franchise. It will also most likely pave the way for a reboot or reset of the MCU.

As such, for this to happen, character deaths are in order. Also, Captain America dying for a dramatic scenery change in Marvel is not entirely unheard of since those who have read the Marvel comic books recently will recall that he actually died there, too, and caused quite a significant chain of events.

It is certainly not unusual that MCU will follow the comic book's storyline. For now, fans will just have to wait until May 2019 for the eventual release of Avengers 4 in order to clear things up once and for all.
