Marvel Studios is yet to commence working on Iron Man 4. There is still a huge demand for another installment among Marvel lovers as they want to see their favorite actor, Robert Downey Jr., playing the role of Iron Man in the sequel. Fans have been waiting for the last five years since the third sequel made box office records.

There is one strong reason why fans want to see Robert Downey Jr. in Iron Man 4. They undoubtedly love watching the 53-year old actor in other Marvel movies and will enjoy the upcoming movie Avengers: Infinity War that is slated to be released on April 23, 2018. Still, they want to see him in a solo movie where he will be seen alone fighting against evil powers. Unfortunately, that still seems to be difficult after the superb success of Iron Man 3.

According to Inquisitr, another important reason why Iron Man 4 may not take place easily is that the cast is very expensive. Since Downey Jr's participation as the lead hero in the making of this highly-anticipated movie guarantees a mammoth amount of revenue, even quite more than he has charged in other Marvel movies, it seems to be very challenging for the directors and producers working on it. For instance, the veteran actor himself took $15 million for his cameo in Spider-Man: Homecoming where he had a presence of fewer than 15 minutes.

If Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts and producers Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal needed to pay such a gigantic amount to Downey Jr. just for a quick appearance, it's simply beyond imagination how much money he will charge to reprise his role in Iron Man 4. On the other hand, there should be other characters being played by famous actors who were present in the previous sequel. Their demands will obviously not be low. These are the main reasons why Marvel Studios are constantly postponing this project by ignoring fans' demands.

Avengers: Infinity War's co-director, Joe Russo, recently said to the media that no one could replace Downey Jr. from playing the role of Iron Man. According to him, the audience will never accept the replacement. However, he also said that it would happen sometime later.
