Dragon Ball Super is about to go on an indefinite hiatus making fans worry about its future. Will the show ever return? Or is it the end for good?

Toei Animation hasn't revealed any details about the show's future. To make matters worse, a recent report confirmed that the current time slot of the hit anime series will be taken by the new anime, Gegege no Kitaro that consists of over 50 episodes.

With that being said, a series with that number of episodes could go all-year long putting Dragon Ball Super's fate at risk.

However, a Dragon Ball Super movie is coming to Japan in December 2018. This gives a sliver of hope for fans but Toei Animation continues to refuse comment. Akira Toriyama, on the other hand, said that the movie will cover the next arc of Dragon Ball Super and the manga will continue on.

Goku's Japanese language voice actress, Masako Nozawa also has a message for the fans:

"We finished recording the last Dragon Ball Super and... even now I'm filled with emotion. For now, the TV anime is taking a short break, and there's also a movie coming this December. My hope is that the TV [anime] begins again while those memories still linger," she said.

So far, Dragon Ball Super aired a glorious finale. The Frieza plotline was epic whilst the Tournament of Power shows superb animation quality. The storyline emerged despite the action and the series perfectly wrapped it up.

No wonder fans are asking for more because judging from that finale, Toei Animation continues to improve and deliver quality in all aspects of the anime series. With an epic finale, it would be wise to let the characters take a backseat for now and let fans savor in all the action it witnessed. It will surely take a lot of time before it dies down because the anime series really did well.

Nevertheless, fans remain hopeful that Goku and the more powerful antagonists will come back to the small screen. For now, there is the movie that they could look forward to.
