On the other hand, the records reveal that apart from various places in Korea and other nations, more than 30 percent of the tourists came from Seoul, Incheon and Gyeonggi Province.

Why is Jeonju Hanok Village highly popular among national and international tourists?

Jeonju Hanok Village located in Jeonju is highly famous among Koreans and global tourists due to its centuries-old traditional buildings, which strongly puts contrast to the modern cities around it.

In 2010, the village was designated as an International Slow City where the natural beauty blends with traditional culture marvelously. Excluding the main city Seoul, this place is ranked third among major tourist cities throughout the entire nation, behind Busan (South Korea's second-most-populous city after Seoul) and Jeju (the largest island off the coast of the Korean Peninsula).

Jeonju was once the spiritual capital of the Jeoju Dynasty
