Xbox 360 DLC On Xbox One Supported By Backwards Compatibility Program; Instructions Provided
Microsoft announced that DLCs will work with backwards compatible games of Xbox 360 to Xbox One consoles along with brief instructions.
There will be over 100 Xbox 360 games available for players, which are compatible to Xbox One so that they don't need to ditch their old DLC games.
A Microsoft representative sent an email saying, "right now, Backward Compatibility does not emulate the Xbox 360 store and new Xbox 360 games can be purchased on your Xbox 360 or via Xbox.com," as reported by Game Informer. In this way, DLC will be downloaded to Xbox One associated with other supported games.
Running the Xbox 360 DLC to Xbox One is going to be simple for players who already had a DLC backwards compatible game downloaded like "Mass Effect." To manage the Xbox 360 DLC, a player needs to find a certain game for it in "My Games and Apps," then click on the "Manage Game" option and it will show a list of DLC games that a player owns. The player has the option to either install or uninstall it anytime, according to Tech Times.
"We will support both digital and disc-based entitlements for Xbox 360 games running on Xbox One," a representative told Game Informer.
The announcement was a good news for most fans who have purchased plot-driven DLC games since they no longer need to repurchase a similar content to gain access.
A dashboard update and the launching of the backwards compatibility functionality will be available on Nov. 12, 3:01 EST or 12:01 Pacific. However, the backwards compatibility will not roll out until 12:01 pm or 8 pm UK time on the same day, according to GameSpot.
The Xbox Live's games with Gold program will include free Xbox 360 games, which is backward compatible to Xbox One and players can also utilize the new offered features, according to Tech Times.
