BBC America has dropped the first nerve-racking teaser for its upcoming suspense/thriller series, Killing Eve. The promo features Grey's Anatomy alum Sandra Oh in the lead role and The White Princess actress Jodie Comer as a lady killer. Based on the teaser, Oh will be faced with more blood than ever.

The new TV series is based on novellas of author Luke Jennings. The story revolves around a demure-looking psychopathic assassin and the woman charged with hunting her down. The two are equally obsessed with each other and will go head to head in an epic game of cat and mouse, BBC America wrote.

Oh will portray the role of Eve, a bored, whip-smart, pay-grade MI5 operative whose desk-bound job doesn't fulfill her fantasies of being a spy. Comer, on the other hand, plays the role of lead villain, Villanelle. She is described as elegant, talented killer who clings to the luxuries her violent job affords her.

Killing Eve Thrilling Promo Teaser

The trailer features a subtle yet chilling exchange between Eve and Villanelle and a number of killings committed by the female antagonist. Eve can be seen telling Villanelle she is an extraordinary person and exceptionally bright woman. Then she adds, "I know you're a psychopath."

"You should never tell a psychopath they're a psychopath. It upsets them," Villanelle warns Eve. When Eve asks her point blank if she is a psychopath, Villanelle's response is a disturbingly sad frown. To make the teaser more frightening is the scene when Villanelle smiles at a young girl in an ice-cream shop and cruelly topples the kid's ice cream on her way out.

Killing Eve Cast and Crew

Killing Eve was adapted to television by Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge. She serves as lead writer, showrunner, and executive producer. Waller-Bridge teased that the team up of Oh and Comer is something that viewers wouldn't want to miss. The eight-episode drama marks Oh's first series regular role since her exit from Grey's Anatomy in 2014.

Killing Eve was filmed at several locations including London, Paris, Tuscany, and Berlin. It also stars Harry Potter and True Blood actress Fiona Shaw as Carolyn Martens, Four Weddings and a Funeral star David Haig as Eve's colleague Bill, and The Bridge actress Kim Bodnia as Konstantin. Other cast members are Darren Boyd, Sean Delaney, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, and Owen McDonnell. The show will premiere on April 8 at 8/7c on BBC America.
