Nintendo Direct 2015 Reveals New Wii U And 3DS Games; First Livestream Since Iwata's Death?

Nintendo hosted its first Nintendo Direct presentation since June, prior to Satoru Iwata's passing, according to Engadget. Iwata was then, president and direct host of the company.

The web-streamed announcement video revealed details about several upcoming and new Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games, reveals GameSpot.

"There's never been a better time to join in on the fun with Nintendo," said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo America's Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing.

"From new experiences like 'Xenoblade', 'Chronicles X' that you can enjoy this year to re-imagined favorites like, 'The Legend of Zelda' and 'Pokémon' coming in 2016."

The livestreamed video brought exciting news for Nintendo fans.

The company revealed that Cloud, the iconic video game character from "Final Fantasy VII" will be added as a playable DLC fighter in "Super Smash Bros." for Wii U and for Nintendo 3DS.

Other Nintendo Direct announcements included the high definition remake of "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess" for the Wii U console.

Launching this holiday season is a new Wii U Deluxe Set that includes the console and pre-installed versions of hit games "Splatoon" and "Super Smash Bros."

Another noteworthy announcement would be the launch of the "Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow Version." This  will come with new wireless communication functionality in Nintendo's eShop on the Nintendo 3DS system.

"Lego Marvel's Avengers from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment" will launch for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS on Jan. 26, reveals Nintendo.

For Nintendo 3DS, "Hyrule Warriors Legends" will have several new characters. This includes a female Link, Linkle.

"Dragon Quest VII" and "Dragon Quest VIII" 3DS are coming to the West and "Fire Emblem Fate" comes in two different packages, which will include a special edition for $80.

The Nintendo Direct presentation did not cover upcoming NX gaming machine nor its games for smartphones, reports Wired.
