New Leaked Images Of The Redmi Note 5 On Oppomart Hints At The Device's Impending Launch

Xiaomi's Redmi Note 5 has been floating around the rumor mill for some time now. There's hearsay that the Chinese handset maker is finally ready to unveil the long-rumored device in near future.

The purported device's predecessor, the Redmi Note 4, took flash sales by storm and even broke a few records. But the device made its first appearance back in August 2016, making this a perfect time to unveil its successor, the Redmi Note 5.

That being said, the upcoming smartphone has already been spotted on Chinese microblogging website, Weibo (via GSM Arena) in the form of the first live photo. The listing also sheds more light on the device's specifications. Let's take a gander at what Xiamo might have in store for the Redmi Note fans.

According to the recently-leaked image, the Redmi Note 5 will pack Snapdragon 625 chipset, under the hood. If this comes to fruition, the company will be using an older chipset for their upcoming smartphone even though Snapdragon 630 is currently up for grabs.

It will sport a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with 18:9 ratio and 1080x2160 pixels resolution. The Redmi Note 5 will come running on Xiaomi's MIUI 9 based on Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box. Another report from Gadgets 360 points at the Redmi Note 5's listing on Oppomart. According to the listing, the device will be available in 3GB RAM/32GB storage and 4GB RAM/64GB storage options.

On the photography front, the Redmi Note 5 will sport a 12MP rear-mounted camera and a 5MP front shooter for the selfie addicts. Furthermore, the device will be backed by a robust 4000mAh battery.

The Oppomart listing was later removed; however, this definitely hints at a looming launch for the Redmi Note 5. A placeholder spotted on JD.com would give credence to rumors of the device's upcoming launch. Interestingly, Xiaomi has also reduced the price of its Redmi Note 4, and tech gurus deem this as another sign that implies the launch of its successor is just around the corner.

On Sunday, November 19, Manu Kumar Jain, Managing Director, Xiaomi India took to his Twitter handle (@manukumarjain) to hint at the launch of a new product, showing the letter "i." Details about this unnamed device are hard to come by at the moment; however, more shreds of information about it are likely to surface online in the coming weeks.
